The SvE.V.O. award was established as part of a three-year project that began in 2014, funded by the GAL Conca Barese and thanks to a measure of the PSR (Rural Development Program) aimed at enhancing cultural services within the municipal library of Sannicandro. It is a network of associations that, with the sponsorship of the municipalities and the Association A.M.E.D.O.O. (Southern Association of Olive Oil Appraisers and Tasters), brought this project to life.
This grassroots initiative is unique because it involves cultural associations that are usually engaged in activities far removed from agriculture but have decided to commit to giving cultural dignity to a product with historical roots in this territory. The project’s main objective is to enhance the library’s services aimed at the agricultural world.
In this context, the SvE.V.O. award was born, a competition for extra virgin olive oils designed to highlight the product and promote the territory.
