The Agency for Services in the Agro-Food Sector of the Marche Region (ASSAM), established by “L.R. no. 9 of January 14, 1997,” is an economic public entity that serves as the regional reference and liaison between the production system and the research community.
Among its main functions are conducting studies and research in collaboration with universities, institutes, and research institutions. In this context, it implements projects in the agronomic sector (cereal crops, horticulture, industrial crops, viticulture, olive growing, and fruit growing) with particular attention to the organic sector and low environmental impact. It offers services in certification and traceability, agro-food product analysis, soil management, forestry, and agrometeorology. It also ensures the implementation of phytosanitary regulations within the regional territory.
