Recipe: Bread with Giulia’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Children are curious and love to get their hands dirty while having fun and learning new things. That’s why involving them in the kitchen to prepare breakfast or snacks is one of the most special and educational experiences we can share with them.

So, grab an apron, a chef’s hat, and let’s all get into the kitchen to prepare a delicious Rye Bread.

Ingredients:

  • 350g Rye Flour
  • 150g Type 0 Flour
  • 50ml Giulia’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 400ml warm water
  • 4g dry yeast
  • 10g fine salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flours with the yeast and salt.
  2. Add Giulia’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil and then the water.
  3. Work the dough with your hands until you get a smooth ball.
  4. Line a 26×10 cm loaf pan with parchment paper and place the dough inside.
  5. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise for about 3 hours at room temperature.
  6. Bake the bread in a static oven at 220°C (430°F) for 35 minutes.
  7. Once the time is up, remove it from the oven and let it cool before slicing.

The dough for this bread is enriched with a drizzle of our Giulia’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which gives it its aromatic, fragrant, and flavorful character. Now, all that’s left to do is to enjoy it together with your children.

This bread is a wonderful alternative to wheat bread: it’s perfect for making bruschetta and tartines, as a base for creams and preserves for a breakfast full of new flavors.
